UnitedHealth Group is the largest health and well-being services provider in US with revenues of over $94 billion in 2010.

UnitedHealth Group has, for a number of years, leveraged offshore outsourcing to enhance quality, cost advantage and access talent in various geographies. This was being done to effectively manage demand variability as the enterprise grew at a very fast pace both through organic and inorganic routes. Up until 2006, offshore services were largely delivered by third-party service providers and the relationships had grown rapidly.
UHGIS started its operations out of Gurgaon, which is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. The company was set up to reduce operating costs, enhance protection of intellectual property and above all, create a foundation for leveraging local talent and capabilities to improve overall efficiency of the enterprise service delivery platforms. Successful operations in Gurgaon lead to the opening of one more site in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh – Hyderabad, which has developed into a major hub for the Information Technology industry in India.
The Technology function has more than 3000 associates who support a wide variety of the technologies – Mainframe, Data Warehouse, Middleware, Java/J2EE and Microsoft.NET. It has well defined processes for application development, enhancements, testing, operations and maintenance projects.
